Last year, over 580 boys and girls from Hamden, North Haven, Bethany, Cheshire, New Haven, Wallingford, and Woodbridge participated in League play. One of the League’s strengths is its philosophy. Although games are competitive, the League encourages the participation of all children, regardless of ability or experience. The goal of the league is to develop children’s skills, teach sportsmanship, encourage the benefits of teamwork, and help them appreciate the game of basketball. Coaches also work to ensure that all players receive the same amount of playing time and, most importantly, have fun. Another strength of the League is that it draws players from across the region.
All games are played in Hamden gyms.
There is one practice per week and one game on Saturday.
Players are drafted onto teams by age and skill level to ensure competitive play
There are 12 divisions, with ages from 5-17 years old
